The file 'Bean Vault Based On IKEA Guldfisk 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 654.3KB.

Summary

This is a cap for the IKEA Guldfisk jar, with space for a seal ring and a valve.
It converts the jar into a "Bean Vault".

I prepare portions of my coffee beans by using a couple of these "bean vaults", thus avoiding to open the coffee bag or coffee container and letting air in each time when a single portion is needed.

As the "originals" from WW are quite costly I looked for alternative options. The IKEA Guldfisk is quite perfect from size but unfortunately lacks a good seal (and valve). Thus I created an "airtight" cap myself.

Jar:
The IKEA Guldfisk
(6cl) is perfect for those coffee portions and takes up to 24g of my favourite beans.
Seal:
Use this or similar
O-ring from silicone with inner diameter 23mm, 2mm thick, outer diameter 27mm
Valve:
Use this or similar
valve made from PE, which should neatly snap in place. Otherwise use a bit of glue.

Notes:

  • Cap should match the IKEA Citronhay 10cl version too
  • Cap can also protect delicate spices stored in such a jar ;-)
  • Yes, there is a small hole (<1mm) in the center of the cap :-)
  • Thread of cap is GL 36 (Knuckle Thread DIN 168)
