Summary

While the Bauhaus started with a lot of idealism and equal opportunity for both genders, in practice women were mostly sent to the weaving workshop. Still, they made a lot of amazing designs. These rugs are a tribute to Bauhaus textile design with patterns inspired by Anni Albers, Gunta Stölzl and Benita Koch-Otte. I might add some more patterns in the future. If you have suggestions for Bauhaus patterns to take as inspiration, let me know in the comments!

There are versions without nubs for full enjoyment of the pattern as well as versions with nubs so your Duplo figures can sit on the rugs and enjoy them. The bottom connection is very versatile and works every half nub and at 3-4-5 diagonals as well.

Bauhaus Duplo Project

Bauhaus and Lego/Duplo is the perfect marriage. That much is obvious. I was missing a few characteristic design elements to create proper Bauhaus Duplo buildings so I started designing and printing them.

I will try to get as many objects ready as I can for the #Bauhaus100 anniversary in 2019. I will try to implement central Bauhaus design elements while not compromising on Duplo functionality and universality.

I will try to add Lego versions of all objects as well. I am not as focused on this, though, so it might take some time. All objects will be created in OpenSCAD and the scripts will be included so you can make your own variants and modifications.
