I designed a molding to fit around a basement pole (4" diameter) that was wrapped by a wooden pole cover from home depot (which made it 4.5" diameter). There was a commercial molding I could have bought for $100 but it wasn't quite big enough to cover an imperfection I had in my floor near the pole. So created a better and cheaper solution in OpenSCAD.
Included is my SCAD file in case you want to change inner or outer diameters or heights of the different sections. Fully customizable and easy to edit. It can print in 2 halves with a bow-tie/butterfly connector to help secure it. Together with some construction caulking/adhesive it holds very strong. I printed with a Hatchbox PLA with 10% wood fiber and then painted with primer and trim paint just like the rest of my basement pole, you can't tell its not wood.
