This Balloon Air Cushion Disc consists of seven individual parts and was designed to provide an alternative for air cushion tables to use for various experiments in physics class, including the topics momentum, collisions and accelerated movement, each with the possibility to alter the mass of discs by loading them with different objects.
By choosing a valve position, one can choose between letting the disk float, adding a sideways component of air flow to generate an accelerated movement or stopping the air to flow at all.
The mass of the disc can be doubled/tripled by choosing three/six standard M12 hexagon nuts to place in the recesses. Furthermore one can experiment with (in)elastic collisions by adding flexible or sticky elements on the perimeter of the ring.
