Summary

This is a baseball bat rattle for your little baseball fans.. but it is more than that! It is also just... well, a bat!

Here's the bat/rattle in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyliVKES1JM

I have designed this bat to be put together without any glues (although they wouldn't hurt). The files I uploaded create an assembled bat that measures about 16" in length. I designed it this way so it can be used as a rattle as well as a small bat to teach toddlers how to hit. I can also be downsized by 1/2 and be a normal sized rattle (roughly 8"), or it can be doubled in size and be a full size (32") wiffle ball bat! If you do decide to make the doubled version:
A. It will require a very large printer (obviously)
B. I recommend using an epoxy to give you extra strength so you can really go for those dingers!

  • Directions -
  1. Print out one of each STL file except for the Peas. I printed out five sets (25) of the peas and that seemed very sufficient for the "rattle sound". Make sure to print out the peas before you print the barrel.

  2. While printing the barrel, pause your print roughly 1/3 of the way through to place the peas inside (I actually did not have any trouble placing the peas during the print, but pausing is probably the safer method). Make sure to check out the photo of this.

Finally, I would like to thank @dutchmogul for inspiring me to create this thing. I made his mace a while back and my son loves it! I'm hoping he will enjoy this bat just as much!
