I thought I’d stop at 100, but whoopsies. Here we have a heavily modified Omega Class to Dinlas Class Interdictor. It’s the remixed Omega Class Destroyer, but remixed again to fill the spot of Carriers and Escort Carrier Vessels as well as to provide the Interdictor role capabilities.

An Interdictor is most commonly used in Military terminology to describe a long range, behind enemy lines bomber aircraft. However, the Omega Alternative I remixed sported Starfury launch bays off Midships, and provided more flack cover by doing so. So you’ll notice in the Forecastle extensive modifications centralized around the duel oversized Launch Bays. The Bays themselves are enlarged to provide cover for the 3 Launch Corridors running into the Midships. The 3 Hatchways inside each bay is there to show that capability.
So in effect, those areas are designated for heavy strike Gun Boats, Valkyrie Missile Boats and Hermes Class Heavy Missile Starfury versatility. All found here on Thinigverse.

After losing Babylon 1, 2, 3 & 4, and with a re-election of President Santiago over President Clark, Earth Force approached the idea of an Interdictor Class Vessel to be designed as a Babylon Defense Force as well as a consequential promise of repercussions of attack.. The initial order was of 6 ships total, 2 to patrol Hyperspace around the the innermost Hyperspace Beacon operationa theater to the Babylon 5 Station Jump Gate, 2 to provide permanent cover of the Station, and 2 to provide rotation.

The main Take always from the Ships Design Intent is heavier armor, gunnery, missile strike capability, fighter support, long range deep inside enemy territory assault capability should Babylon 5 be attacked or destroyed. The Dinilas is designed to be the final word in capability against older Races.

The other modifications continue in positioning and deployment of more Guns and supercharged larger Rear Engines with horizontal and vertical heavier support and heat shielding to compensate. The Rotational Habitat Section is different from the Omega as well as the outermost cross hatching structure provides more deflective shielding.

It’s an animal for sure. That’s the idea. F.A.F.O. With the Shadow War looming, and the Loss of Babylon 4 with an open engagement between a thwarted attack by the Shadows on by the Vorlons, Babylon 4 was thrown into a Tachyon Stacis pocket within the river of time for now. However The Vorlons, suffering heavy losses and Earth Forces lack of ability to get counterattack vessels in range to assist, the Vorlons had to abduct the Station and Crew to sease hostilities in what I would call, an open fire Babylon 4 Crisis. Babylon 5 was created in defiance of the Shadow Attack and to reaffirm Earth Forces commitment to being a dominant force in the Galaxy and shore up the other Races thru refuge and diplomacy.

Truth be told, the Vorlons were not aware that Earth Force was Still exploring the 2 Shadow Vessels found on Mars Syria Planium and Ganymede. Earth Force was not able yet to reverse engineer the Shadow Ships, so this Class, named after the Greek God of Chaos Only fits. This is a post Minbari War President who is a veteran of that conflict. He believes it’s time to really shore up defenses while obeying armistice and peace treaties in effect still from that war. But now inboldened, He green lights 6 Ships, Anaognous, Hades, Sagittarius, Cerberus and Hydra.

This story line wise really puts strain between choosing which side to pick in the upcoming Shadow War. My theory is that this more clear alternative story line reinforces Earth unofficial position to covertly choose the Shadows to unite with and further fortifies the zenophobic rhetoric of the pre Babylon 5 Neutrality Accord's setting up a Earth Civil War breaking out in the future with the further Alien direct move to abduct the 4th Babylon Station and reinforcing the defense and deterrence of the ships design intent. A multi front war as in the TV Series is now more palpable thru these historical remixes for an alternative Reboot possibility.

That’s a lot of work to tell the untold stories for now and hopefully lend some more creative ideas to further boost alternatives for a reimagined epic Series.
