Summary

Welcome back,

So in my efforts to create Remix’s of Earth Force Stations and Ships, and creating alternate fan story lines, I thought to myself; what if?

What if the Babylon Project was still the last best hope for peace however, Earth Force was able to defeat the Minbari in the Earth Minbari War? It’s a big what if, albeit; but what changes would be made to the Babylon Project? Here I offer my own take. Every part of this Station is designed to show a difference in prospective thru its architecture. You’ll first notice there is 5 cylindrical sections of the station joined together in one central X configuration superstructure. The thought is, Earth would more than likely be more aggressive, and just having fought an extremely long and devastating war, possibly in their own right, justifiably so.

The 4 lower sections of the Station are split to house the Narn, Centari, Minbari and the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, whilst the center top section is strictly Earth Force. The Station is heavily fortified in architecture and defense. Even the Fusion Reactor is part of the Earth Force Section with no centralized large cargo pass thru areas thru all sectors. Each race has their own smaller cargo areas and main pass thru traffic how ever, travelers have to pass thru the centralized Earth Force controlled sections. This is for absolute security whilst still preforming the same mission with a different back story. I’ve tried my best to give it the Babylon 5 Station echo’s, however sticking to this alternate universe’s reimagination, not all elements could be kept in a straight line. Also, an overhanging main cargo section over top of the livable sections of the station are not included. This again is for security, the idea is to cut the Station’s amount of cargo down to size in an effort for EF to keep control of the operation.

The Spines of the Station are within all 5 Rotating Sections, and jointed together more than previous Babylon project Station designs. Again, more defendable. The Station probably would not be attended by the Vorlon’s so quickly, I would imagine anyway given the deep lore surrounding them and their unique way of thinking. Also major cargo would see its transportation run through the central Superstructure and out to the outbound Alien Sectors. This level of “clamping down” would make a Vorlon’s privacy less viable.

Is this a suitable Babylon Project Station that would fit the confines of that Alternative Narrative I have been offering thru these remixed models? That’s for you to decide. Is this a less inclusive, yet still interactive and effective way of providing diplomacy in a more secure fashion? Well, with such vast area’s being dedicated to environments more suited to mimic the individual species home away from home on its interior spaces, and EF supported private docks, I believe the olive branch of peace is still there. If anything, walking through a Minbari interior, or a Narn interior that is designed to accommodate home worlds appearances and accommodations is very welcoming, and for times where war does break out among larger Races, at least everyone isn’t trapped in the middle, and Earth can achieve a safer hand in Diplomacy with Races far older more soundly. Also, they can provide cover, which lessens the aggression of being caught in a cross fire, but just in case, thats why the areas are separated and blanketed with Capital Ship defenses. Remember “No one here is exactly what he appears”.

Enjoy!
