The file 'Baby Iron Giant 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 9.3MB.
I designed this following a request from a friend of a friend. When I looked at images of the Iron Giant with its long, very thin legs and arms I first thought how on earth can I not only print something this delicate, but also make it strong enough to carry on your keys as a keyring. I then came across an image of a baby type Iron Giant and thought this will be ideal. All the features are exaggerated and enlarged, perfect for a keyring.
The model itself (as you will see when you load it into a slicer) is a lot larger than it needs to be. I did this because I thought it would be better to scale it down rather that up and if you want a larger model you can do that as well.
I scaled the model in the photo to 0.45, this gave me a height of 80mm.
I printed the model in 2 halves, to reduce the amount of support material needed. I then glued the 2 halves together. I have however also supplied stl files for the complete model and ones with and without the ring on the top of the head.
