The file 'Avionics Housing-The Olympus Project 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 315.0KB.
I have recently started playing with the Arduino microcontroller and incorporating it into my model rockets. This also meant learning more about CAD and 3D printing. To help others who are learning 3D printing, electronics and the Arduino, and model rocketry, I have created a Project Manual that takes you through the development and construction of what I call the Olympus Project.
The Project Manual covers construction and finishing of the Olympus, the design and construction of the electronics and software, and the design and construction of the 3D printed avionics housing, how to calculate the vent holes needed by the pressure sensor, and a bunch more.
The Project makes use of the Olympus kit from Estes. The electronic payload consist of an Arduino Nano, a BMP180 pressure sensor, an MPU6050 IMU, a MicroSD card module to record data, and a 7.4V LiPo battery. Also uses a RGB LED to relay error codes.
The Project Manual can be downloaded at https://rocketryjournal.files.wordpress.com/2023/12/olympus-payload-v1.0.pdf. The Arduino program files can be downloaded from SourceForge at https://sourceforge.net/projects/olympus-project. The Tinkercad files can be accessed at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/iY6COkklnYd-the-olympus-project. We even have a YouTube channel that takes you through the development and construction process at https://www.youtube.com/@AustinAerospace.
