The file 'Automated Door Lock 3D Printer Model' is (stl,x3g) file type, size is 1.4MB.
I built an automated door opener that lets our dogs go in and out whenever they want. I wanted an electronic lock to link with the door opener and couldn't find anything that worked so I built this one.
The lock is controlled by an Arduino system that also opens the door. The rotation is done with a continuous rotation servo. Note, the hole for the servo is slightly undersized (I filed it a bit to get a snug fit).
Print the threaded parts on a "fine" setting. The latch is setup for the door closing 10mm in front of the door frame.
After some testing I added "Spindle 8" with a slightly smaller thread diameter (runs much smoother). I also shortened the part so I could just glue on a servo gear for a better connection.
UPDATE: Added a cover for the lock box.
