Summary

Let's welcome the latest addition to the AtomStack product lineup:

The AtomStack Hurricane Pet Edition

This is my contribution to the #MarkAtomStack challenge.
It's a handy version of the actual Hurricane I aim to win. It is small enough to put it on your desk and pet it for relaxing moments during long model design sessions.
The x-gantry and the laser head are completely movable, so you can have fun pretending to have a real AtomStack Hurricane.

I thought, instead of just remixing some stuff and slapping on an AtomStack logo, I designed a completely new model.
After the first idea, I used all my spatial imagination to design it entirely in LightBurn (2d rules!).

The model mostly consists of laser-cut 3mm MDF but also has one or two printed parts (the handle is printed, the cutting bed can be printed or cut). It has an engraved AtomStack logo on the top and laser-cut cardboard details on the front and a cut AtomStack logo on the laser head, looking just like the original.
I chose to not paint it, so that it looks more ecological - green-washing FTW - but you may paint it black like the original or just in every fancy color you like.

I hope that you are having fun building this model.

What to cut and print

The ZIP-File Cutting_Sheets.zip contains 7 SVGs that need to be cut from MDF, where blue is the cutting path and yellow the path for engraving. The details are cut from different colored cardboard and can be found in the file Details.svg.
You can choose to cut the cutting bed from Honeycomb_Laser_Bed.svg or you can print it on your 3d-printer from Honeycomb_Laser_Bed.stl
The handle has to be 3d-printed from the file Handle.stl

Assembly

For assembly instructions see Instructions.pdf.
Things you will need for assembly are just some glue, a paper clip and a nipper (for the clip).

I also documented the design process as it was requested in the official rules, see Design_Process.pdf.
