A hugely improved motor mount for the epic AtomRC Dolphin FPV plane. It fits tight into the motor wire channel, adding much more mechanical stability so it won't just pop off on landing. It also actually has enough space for the screws to not just rip right through.
I use mine with a X motor bracket that came with my motor. The stock Dolphin motor doesn't include one but almost any similarly sized motor comes with one that fits, check your parts drawer! You could also use the original wooden bracket or print a X bracket-- leave a comment if you want me to whip one up.
Print it with zero top and bottom layers and choose a cool infill (I use tri-hexagon) and make it look sweet, ultra light weight, and print super fast. I print mine with 1 perimeter thickness (but two perimeters for the first 4 layers using a modifier) in Fusion Filaments HTPLA+.
Designed in OnShape– the web browser 'soldworks clone' made by the OG solidworks devs that's free to use. Send me a DM for the link or any requests for mods/changes/versions.
Please post 'em! Really! Take a quick cameraphone photo of your print in all its glory and show it off! Plus it really helps get this design out there to the world.
Designing stuff is fun but interacting with cool people and hearing about their adventures is better. I can generate any variation / engraving easily, message me on discord/telegram and/or leave a comment and let's make your perfect version. I only ask that you post a make!
If you'd like the CAD or STEP file too, no problem. I've already helped a bunch of great folks! Send me a ping
