Summary

Atlante, Apamea (Syria), “Tycheion”, about 160-180 BCE. Musée du Cinquantenaire (Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReMake and ReCap from AutoDesk.

Discovered in 1931 by the team of Fernand Mainz in the great colonnade of Apamea (just before the “Tycheion”) in Syria, this block was sawn and brought back to Brussels. It is currently preserved in the Museum of the Cinquantenaire. Due to the fire that struck the museum in 1946, the Atlantean is in a state of advanced degradation.
