Summary

FEEL FREE TO EDIT THESE FILES AS YOU SEE FIT.

I have seen many versions of a "functional" Hidden Blade from Assassin's Creed, and while most have some unique qualities, all are just like toys. Plastic, brittle, floppy and most of the time would break or not function at all. I wanted to change this. So, I designed my own version that offers tighter tolerances, minimal finish work, and the use of actual springs, NOT rubber bands. My version can be directly loaded into a CNC machine for a fully metal version. I am still working on the g-code, but will post them when I am finished. The metal version utilizes 7075-T6 Aluminum, 954 Bronze, and S30V Stainless Steel, but for now, I will be using ABS and Carbon Fiber as my medium. I will post instructions, with part numbers, for all of the components that you will need to build this at home. Having the files and seeing a video of it working isn't enough. The instructions will be in full color detail with step by step instructions. I have designed three different versions for your printing pleasure; an Assassin's Version, a Templar's Version, and a plain version. The ONLY difference between the three is the Top Gear Cover, everything else is the exact same.
UPDATE
Please, remember that this is actually designed for metal not plastic, but I adapted it for 3D printing purposes.

The Custom Spring has been deleted from the Bill of Materials. There is now a substitute spring that is readily available. Listed with Bullet and asterisk.

UPDATE 12/20/15
The Gear Pull Idle Ring has been deleted and the Gear Cover files have been changed slightly, to use the additional extension springs that come from McMaster-Carr.
I have uploaded a short PDF pictorial that shows step by step, in order, of how the assembly is put together.

UPDATE 01/14/2016
The majority of the files have been replace with the finished CNC files, which only have subtle differences for easier machining. These files, although designed for machining, are still easily printed. Pictures and video coming soon.

UPDATE 02/29/2016
I have decided to share the original files, that way if anyone feels up to it, they can edit, change, whatever. Because of the size of the files I haven't posted them to Thingiverse. Instead here is the link to Google Drive where the files are located. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7nqY4k2Q1_PUk1zdEY4d2hRMWs&usp=sharing
Good luck. m/
