Summary

The younger cat my wife and I have is very cute, but she will happily chew on the leave and stems of any and all plants (it seems) UNLESS we provide her with regular fresh cat grass. After seeing how much I was about to start spending on the little square of mediocre and sometimes old cat grass I realized I need to just buy wheatgrass seed and plant it myself in little temporary pans. However those and other small containers did not work out, so... Perfect opportunity for 3D printing!

These little containers are my attempt to make cat grass containers the size I wanted and that look nice while being more stylish than a cheap one-use baking pan. I love a lot of Asian design and architecture and this has a little bit of that in the design, all of which I did in Sketchup.

FYI I will sprout ~1/4 cup of wheatgrass seeds to fill the larger grass container, and that always leaves enough to fill the mini container.

Lastly, the tray I created because my first print was not water-tight and I needed something that WAS water-tight to keep from soaking the carpet. If your first print doesn't have a dense enough infill like mine then adjust your settings and print the tray, then the print won't be useless. OR you can always use it to put anything in, OR seal the tray (or inside) with a non-toxic sealant or coating so it does not leak.
