The file 'Ary BB 3-5 Speaker Box 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 2.8MB.
Ary BB 3-5 is the somewhat unwieldy name of the 2.1 active speaker kit from Udo Wohlgemuth. It consists of the loudspeakers (chassis) for the two satellites, the subwoofer, an amplifier and accessories. From this, a high-quality active speaker set can be assembled.
I have had good experiences with boxes created directly in the 3D printer. After trying out a few ideas in the 3D design program, I ended up with a round, cozy model. In any case, it has been well received by friends and family.
I used dull red filament for printing. I am not sure why the layers are visible from certain angles. I don't think it's because of the filament.
Since the box shape has no surfaces, I could not use the clamps provided in the kit. That's why there are two banana jacks for the connections. I tried to mount them vertically into the case. However, looking at the result, I think that parallel aligned plugs would look better.
During printing, the filament got tangled up, which ruined the print. Now I have a cutaway model of it. The wall thickness of 15mm and the Gyroid infill pattern are clearly visible. The Gyroid infill has the interesting property of being permeable in all directions. This means that it should be possible to fill the infill spaces with a resin. I will test this in a future project.
The boxes are coated with a matt-transparent varnish. I constructed a rotating device to spray as evenly as possible. It looks a bit like a chubby pig on a spit, but it worked very well. See the Video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtyyBeg7ats
