First of all: If you never did an Upgrade, you can check videos (English / German): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5156993
The maximum temperature of the nozzle has been increased to 290°C if you use the full metal upgrade!
** If you use the standard configuration of the Genius with the tube, your maximum temperature should be 250°C.

It worked very good for me. (creator Waggster!)
By default, the Artillery Genius is not designed for temperatures up to 290°C, as the PTFE in the hotend becomes problematic at temperatures above 240-250°C.
To print safely and reliably up to 290°C, you would need to upgrade the hotend to an all-metal version and possibly also replace the thermistor with a high-temperature thermistor or thermocouple.
The cartridge heater should have no problem reaching these temperatures, however you should adjust the firmware settings (HEATER_0_MAXTEMP) to ensure the printer allows these temperatures.
So if you regularly want to print with materials such as nylon, polycarbonate or PEEK that require such high temperatures, a hotend upgrade is definitely necessary.
