Looking for an example of an ammonite to show my son, I found plenty of articulated octopus models and several ammonite shells. This is my attempt at combining two of these (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2432614 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:637263) using SketchUp. It was a fairly hasty job and there's some compression of the shell (and not free articulation of the back limbs) but it was enough to make a model for my son (and one for our tiny local museum, which has a cabinet of fossils and models) and I thought I'd share it for anyone else who's interested. Even better if somebody wants to make a better version!
Notes:
Prints well in PLA with no support but a brim to help with adhesion.
