Summary

UPDATE 11/09/2023: Now Marine expansion friendly. The following 4 files need to be reprinted with the new 'Marine' version:
-AN specials 1
-AN specials 2
-AN bonus + venom
-AN universities
The versions that have the 'Marine' at the end are the replacements, and the non-Marine versions have been removed from here as there are minimal changes and work fine with just the base game.

Sleeved cards all fit (barely) into the existing card holders so those did not change. The enhancement 'animal' cubes fit into the existing player trays. The new special buildings fit into the original special buildings 'loose' tray.

I've added an extra slot for an unused partner 'continent' in the Universities tray, which seems like it will be in the next expansion (looks like Antarctica?). I also slightly widened the universities slots to allow for an easier fit. Also have an extra unused octagonal slot in the bonus tray. However this insert will require more of an overhaul when more cards are added, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there :)

UPDATE 05/30/2022: Updated the Player box files to make them much more vertical-storage friendly. Print two copies of "AN player v2" and "AN player v2 mirror" if you had issues before with vertical storage.

This is a deluxe insert for Ark Nova- 'deluxe' meaning the original generic trays are not used. I wanted to create an insert that functionally helps with gameplay, looks somewhat good, and where I could minimize PLA use (although there is a lot of plastic here!)

I used the fantastic custom pavilion and kiosks created by iKarl here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5182792. I also used the remixed break token from Mykereload here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5256608/files printed at 150% scale on the Z axis to increase height.

Lastly, I knew I was going to be playing this game alot and I wasn't crazy about the player colors, so I went with custom colors. I printed the kiosk toppers to match the colors I liked, and recreated the associate worker tokens so you can print those in whatever color. I bought metal cubes from bgg to match the player colors (in hindsight this was overkill :) could've just bought regular wooden ones). You obviously don't need to do this. You also don't have to match the kiosk roofs to player colors and can just use whatever generic color you want.

Print the following:

Insert:
-2 x AN player v2
-2 x AN player v2 mirror
-1 x AN pavilions left
-1 x AN pavilions right
-1 x AN pavilions lid left
-1 x AN pavilions lid right
-4 x AN card holder
-2 x AN credits
-2 x AN enclosures
-1 x AN bonus Marine
-1 x AN universities Marine
-1 x AN specials 1 Marine
-1 x AN specials 2 Marine

Upgraded pieces:
-3 x AN marker base in EACH color
-4 x AN assoc worker in EACH color IF you are also changing out player colors (not needed if you're sticking with the wooden pieces in standard colors)
-4 x AN shield top
-4 x AN shield bottom
-4 x AN appeal top
-4 x AN appeal bottom
-4 x AN reputation
-16 kiosks and 12 pavilions from the iKarl link above
-1 coffee mug printed at 80% x, 80% y, and 120% z scale from the Mykereload link above

I printed all the insert pieces at either 0.20 or 0.30mm layer height and 10% infill. The upgraded pieces were at 0.20 with 50% infill to give them some heft.

Some of the upgraded pieces you can see in the pics that I printed with multi layers to get the color effects. The layer changes I used were:

AN Appeal Top - 0-4.20 White 4.20-5.20 Beige 5.20+ Black
AN Appeal Bottom - 0-1.80 Beige 1.80+ Black
AN Shield Top 0-5.20 White 5.20+ Shiny green
AN Shield Bottom 0-1.20 White 1.20+ Shiny green
AN Reputation 0-8.20 Black 8.20+ White

The Appeal and Shield tokens require gluing the top and bottom halves together. They just then slot into the base, and I also glued that in.

Final Notes:
While it's very unlikely, you could run out of pavilions or kiosks since the game comes with standard 24 double-sided kiosk / pavilion chits. The "Ark" and "Nova" boxes attached to the pavilion storage on the top layer are unused extra storage and you can put those chits in there if you are worried.

This is my second insert. You can check out the first one I did for Black Angel, here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3869047
