Summary

Iron Man ARC Reactor Inspired wireless QI charger

5/13/2022 Update
Added a modified top cover. Also modified the model to sit higher allowing for larger phones (Charger Stand 2.0 89mm). This model has a base to center of the charger measurement of 89mm, which works well for the Samsung Galaxy S22.

11/11/2020 Update
New larger design, that I think is much better looking. I blew away the old version as the charging circuit I used is no longer available. v3 is a redesign to fit a newer circuit. Here is the one I used...https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000294747868.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.de684c4duIh4dn
The black board I got from another seller but it didn't come with the blue LEDs so I got the green one. After talking with the seller of the black board one they said to specify that you want blue LEDs and they will ship that one.
Based on a request, I also added a name plate that says "Proof that Tony Stark has a Heart"
I also added holes in the base that I poured sand into to weight it down. I squirted some caulking into the ends after filling with sand. I got tried of my phone sticking to it (silicone case) and picking it up slightly when I grabbed my phone.

10/22/19 Update
Added version 2.0 which (In my opinion) is a much cooler looking stand for the charging pad. I printed it in 2 parts (Base and Upper) but I loaded a complete model for those with better printers. The name plate is also a separate part so you can design your own. Also because I wanted to use real M2 screws to mount it.

This is not the exact charging chip I used but I think the dimensions are close enough to work...

Stand is not required allowing for just the charging pad, but I recommend using a standoff to allow some airflow as the QI chip gets warm while charging. I designed this for a QI charger DIY kit found on Ali-express that I cannot find right now but the pictures will show you what it looks like. The stand was designed around a Samsung Galaxy S7 with a small case but I now have an S10 and it works along with my wife's LG ThinQ. It should work with most phones but I cannot promise that some of the larger phones will work.
