This is my original design. I remixed an extended version of the Kobra 2 pro/plus/max screw type spool and nut and extended the spindle. I created a support to take the torque off where the spindle connects to the printer. It came out good and will also work with the OEM smooth spindle.

I would suggest printing out the unmodified spool nut to be able to lock the modified nut. It has a tendency to tighten or loosen depending on spool pull direction. Adding an additional threaded nut will lock it in place.
