Summary

This cute family of swallows took a shine to our pool towel hangers which are made of 25mm/1" dowels.

Birds keep themselves light by "losing ballast" i.e., POOPING at a prodigious rate. Towels + bird-poop = not a fantastic poolside experience... so here is a 25mm self-clamping anti-bird-spike thing.

They have to be removable to make way for towels, hats, goggles etc. The design relies on the springiness of the material for its clamping force.

No birds were harmed and the little family is fine losing weight in the trees.
