1) Fill the outer ring with water
1a) Add a little soap if you like (NON-CITRUS SCENTED! Cats HATE citrus). The soap will drown the little bastards and kill mosquito larvae.
2) Place your cat food bowl in the middle.
3) Refill the water every few days as necessary.
I WOULD NOT put the cat food directly in the holder for three reasons:
1) You can contaminate the food with the water.
2) You'll leach plastics into your cat's food.
3) It's MUCH easier to change the water if there' a bowl to remove.
Just use a bowl.

The diameter is the top opening diameter so measure your cat bowl and print the one you need.
Yes, it's big... The larger the water ring, the longer you can go between refills.
Yes, the walls are thick. It needs to be durable and water does degrade PLA a little bit.
