This bracket allows you to attach a cheap eBay laser (http://www.ebay.com/itm/112386250526) to the stock Anet A8 carriage for laser cutting. The fan port powers and controls the laser. I soldered JST connectors so that swapping the laser/fan when switching between laser cutting and 3d printing is fast. The only downside to having the laser placed where it is, is that you lose a decent amount of print space (down to 118mm x 200mm). But I favored the quick function switch over maximum bed space. I used the following blog for software and it contains more detailed information about the project: http://lokspace.eu/anet-a8-3d-printer-laser-engraver-mod/
Note: Inkspace .92 and newer changed how scaling works and has issue with Lokster's plugin. Use Inkspace .91 or older to have proper scale when lasering. Also, get some real laser glasses, the cheap onse that come with the linked laser do not do a sufficient job.
Happy laser cutting!
