This is a Filament holder designed to be used with the AM8: Anet A8 upgrade. After building my AM8 I did not find any filament holders that would support the filament without taking additional table/floor space or causing too much extra height. I also wanted to avoid purchasing any other parts to continue the AM8 upgrade path of the fewest possible parts needed.
12.7.2017 - I uploaded the CAD files, reporting back that this design is still working great for me, over 100 hours and 3 spools after it was first installed!
8.13.2017 - I had issues with changing spools that caused the arms to snap - In response, I strengthened the arms and changed the hole design to a slot design to allow easier spool change with minimal horizontal flex to the arms.
The Spool holder is designed to use the 8mm threaded rod that came with the A8. although bearings or additional rods are not needed, you will need the following items.
