The file 'A&K Airsoft M249 & Mk46 Replacement Front Sight 3D Printer Model' is (STL,PDF) file type, size is 510.4KB.
Replacement front sight assembly for the A&K M249 & Mk46 airsoft LMG's.
Pretty much a dead copy of the real A&K part, measured from my broken one.
Print the two parts as shown in the pictures for maximum strength in something strong - I used CF-PETG.
Tap the dovetail retainer hole M3x0.5, the front sight post hole M5x0.8. Do this BEFORE you glue everything together to make your life easier. Also, you'll want to print a front sight tool to remove your old one & reinstall it into your newly printed sight. I have a 3D Printing optimized model in my designs to make your life easier.
Use the front notch and the V-Groove in the parts to line everything up. The back of the sight hood should be parallel with the back of the front sight as seen in the pictures.
Glue together with a tough cyanoacrylate glue like Gorilla Super Glue or Rabid Hobbies Rubber-Toughened Super Glue.
Enjoy your new front sight! This FDM optimized model should prove very tough - not as good as steel of course, but capable of taking a good few knocks.
Update 6/13/24:
Added a PDF drawing of the front sight post, which you can make easily on a small lathe & mill out of a M5x20 screw. Also, if you are missing the grub screw to lock the front sight in place, it's M3x5mm.
