Summary

Just for airsoft - Not for firearms.

This is a bullpup conversion kit for airsoft AK rifles. My rifle is a CM028C. Had to do a bit of filing / gaffer's taping to get everything to fit just right, but didn't bother making said minor changes to the files.

This is a build based off of Goblins' design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3385470), with some of their parts reuploaded with minor changes to help with fitment to my RIS parts, to accommodate a bit of 2.3mm stainless TIG welding rod I had lying around for the trigger pin, and a slightly wider diameter pen spring I had already. I also simplified the buttstock to a two part clamshell design, and eliminated the need for brass threaded inserts. I'd make this a remix but it seems like thingiverse's attribution feature for that is broken for me.

I used a cheap burst mosfet I found on Amazon to drive the motor (https://www.amazon.com/Airsoft-Programmable-Electric-Accessories-Compatible/dp/B07YCN42RM/) and after programming it for an accurate single round burst (semi-auto), and a transition to full auto after 0.3 sec of holding down the trigger, I'm quite pleased with the results. I wired in a small toggle switch that I had already (similar to these https://www.amazon.com/mxuteuk-Terminal-Position-Miniature-Dashboard/dp/B07XMJ1PDF?th=1), and mounted it in the right buttstock half.

I redesigned the foregrip RIS for the CM028C to allow for a cleaner rock and lock motion on the mag change, and added an additional foregrip RIS part towards the muzzle to accommodate the gas tube and sling mount, and to allow for an angled foregrip, which I designed and included here. Here's a video of a mag change, forgive my trigger discipline: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0MK-SW2E6I0.

I made a modification to TwiggyDesigns' dust cover (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3541397) to allow for a larger 11.1V 1600mAh 30C lipo, and included a retention tab to help with the battery placement and cable management under the dust cover.

Most of the hardware is M5 x 30mm, except for the original stock lug hardware which I reused, along with the original foregrip M3 retention screw, and I believe an M3 x 10mm screw for the mock suppressor, which is really just to hold the stock inner barrel steady.

I also included a small riser to get my cheap red dot (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A36MKUO) to the correct height for a good cheek weld on the taller dust cover.

I recommend 30% infill and PETG for printing. If you have any issues or remix it, let me know!
