Summary

Since a CPAP/APAP creates constant pressure, there is constant airflow through the machine, and the air you breathe comes solely from the machine, which in turn comes entirely from the machine intake.

This seemed like a good opportunity: Purify the air going into the machine, and you'll be breathing the cleanest air in the house!

This design allows the AirSense 11 to pull air through a Honeywell Type R filter and Type A pre-filter.

Yes, this is absurdly over-sized for the machine. This offers a few advantages:

  • Even though the air is much cleaner, it is still LESS restrictive than the stock filter.
  • A single filter will probably out-last the device.*
  • If you already have a compatible home purifier, you can use one of your old filters.

*You may still want to change the Type A filter. Activated charcoal has limited capacity for absorbing VOCs.
