Summary

This part is intended to be used as a ventilator valve. It is a work in progress, not ready to be used, looking for people to help test and improve the valve.

When ventilators are used to treat COVID-19, any parts that were in contact with the patient should be throughly sanitized when they are switched from one patient to another. The advantage of this valve is that the air hose passes through the valve mechanism, without directly exposing the mechanism directly to air the patient is breathing.

I'm not a medical professional, but it seems like this would allow the valve to be more easily reused when transferring from one patient to another.

Required Hardware:

  • NIMA 17 Stepper Motor
  • M3 Nuts and Bolts
  • Silicone Tube: 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD

Currently working on another version with an end stop for more reliable valve action.
