This is a AeroPress coffee maker to mug adapter if you have a wide mug. The bottom of the AeroPress is a little too small for some mugs and it is too easy for it to slip off the top of the mug.
The adapter is mostly just a ring but has a raised angled wall on the underside to keep it from accidentally sliding off the mug when you're pushing down on the press.
The shape is 3mm thick to make it nice and strong, so it can withstand your pressing on it without deforming or just getting soft and bending from the hot coffee. It is printed solid out of PLA. Coffee is best brewed at 175 degrees F with the AeroPress. Most automatic coffee makers use hotter water. I have verified many times that using water hotter than 175 makes the coffee more bitter.
I usually let the coffee drip through the grounds instead of pressing it all the way down. When most of the water has dripped through, I press out the last bit of water. This takes a bit longer but you get a stronger cup of coffee without it being bitter. I usually will microwave the coffee for about a minute to bring it up to a nice hot drinking temperature. Best cup of coffee ever!
