(Crude) AEG Ridgid Battery to Dewalt Tool Adapter
Built this for a yard tool that was unavailable from Ridgid.

I reused the Ridgid base from that model.
The dewalt battery cover was found on the net somewhere. Credit to it's maker
Changes:
The base was enlarged and screw holes added.
Wiring runways added
mounting hole modified to hold ridgid plug properly
lock hold added
Printing:
Print using supports (I use tree supports)
I also print using petg for strength
Contacts:
Contacts are created using stripped household copper wire. Insert the wire into the lower holder and bend back through the top. Pull tighten it with needle nose pliers. Press flat with a tool. When soldering press the wire down to embed it into the print slightly.
Wiring:
If needed use pics on google to determine positive and negative posts. Official batteries are labeled.
The third center pin needs a 12k pull-up resistor between itself and positive post (This was measured on an official 3aH battery but varies pack to pack but not sure)
Assembly:
use M3 screws and nuts to assemble.
The Ridgid base nut cutouts were too small for me. I heated the nuts and melted them into place to get it flush.
I trimed my M3 screws to size. They were around 12mm long
Put a ridgid battery onto the adapter and fill the top with glue. It will position the plug to allow the battery to go on/off easier and prevents vibration from loosening the solder joints.
Warnings:
DO NOT CHARGE USING THIS ADAPTER. The TH + ID pins will likely short and maybe it will destroy the charger, start a fire, cause cancer. I don't know! DON'T do it.
This adapter does NOT lock onto the tool.
It is very tight and I leave it on the tool all the time so I will likely not address this.
I did add a hole for a 3mm bolt to lock the adapter. The Ridgid base still needs to be modified to accommodate a screw here though as it will interfere with the ridgid battery as-is.
