The file 'Advent Calendar Christmas Tree 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.0MB.
Just what you need in the lead up to Christmas!
The 3D Advent Calendar can be enjoyed by kids (of all ages) at home but you can also use it yourself at work or as a gift to someone special... great fun. Print it, add chocolate or candy and stand it up against a wall from 01 December until Christmas Day.
The design has been scaled to allow it to be printed on machines with a build plate 200mm x 120mm or greater (printed straight) or 180mm x 180mm (printed diagonally). At this scale the drawers will are small but will still accommodate small pieces of chocolate, sweets or candy. There are four different sizes / shapes of drawers. This creates a nice visual effect with the round drawers representing decorations on a Christmas tree.
At standard scale the approx. inside dimensions of the drawers are:
Small Round - 12mm x 26mm
Medium Round - 14mm x 26mm
Large Round - 17mm x 26mm
Rectangular - 32mm x 26mm x 7mm
Note: If you have a larger build plate scaling all parts up uniformly is recommended as it means larger treats can be accommodated in the drawers.
At standard scale the tree is 200mm in length however, as above, it can be rotated to fit on slightly smaller build plates. It needs to be this size to ensure even a small piece of chocolate or candy can fit in the drawers... because there are 24 of them in total. Scaling down (X and Y) a small is possible but going too far will mean the drawers are hard to slide and there isn't sufficient space for the chocolate or candy within a drawer. Scaling up should be no problem.
Overall this is an easy print but it will take time... because of the size of the tree plus 25 other parts (including the star). However, the end result is worth the effort if you want a 3D advent calendar.
Each drawer features a recessed number for the day in December it is to be opened. It is recommended to print the first 1.5 - 2.0mm in one color then pause your machine, change the filament color, then resume to finish the print. This will create a nice decorated tree effect. Print your drawers in batches (eg. 4 prints x 6 drawers) to make the process easier.
Please refer to the images and print setting instructions for additional information... and post images of your 'decorated' Advent Calendar Christmas Trees in use for other members to see.
