I am posting this here at the request of this item's designer Albinfont (https://www.thingiverse.com/albinfont/designs), with very warm thanks.
16.5 cm long ruler with 36 spaces for removable needle pushers for a flat bed knitting machine. Can be used to create unique patterns with a 36-stitch repeat. Designed for a standard gauge knitting machine, the spaces are 4.5 mm apart. Works equally well on a 9 mm gauge bulky knitting machine, just omit every other space.
Remixes:
I added rulers for different gauges: 5 mm (Passap, Superba), 6.5 mm, and 7 mm (mid-gauge). The spaces in these rulers are the same size as in the 4.5 mm ruler, so the same pusher pegs can be used in any of them. This is useful if you happen to have machines of different gauges.
I made a slight modification to the pusher peg, to ensure that it lies flat on the print bed. This makes it asymmetrical. For error-free usage, when inserting the pegs into the ruler, make sure that the bump on the leg of each peg always faces you.
I also deepened the curve of the pusher end, to help it engage the needle butt without sliding sideways.
The pegs fit snugly. To remove them, push the bottom of the ruler gently but firmly against the edge of a table.
Print in standard PLA &/or PETG (this print is PLA only).
Peg: 50% infill
Ruler: 20% infill. To ensure dimensional stability of the spaces, which is critical to the correct fit of the pegs, I strongly recommend printing the ruler on a raft (as in photo), otherwise you risk elephant-footitis of your print. You can repurpose the raft into a bookmark ;)
