A project box for holding these common voltage step-down (buck) modules. LM2596 is an inexpensive standard module made by a number of manufacturers. Typically 3.0-40V input and 1.5-35V output, but exact specs depend on the module. Widely available on Amazon and elsewhere, they are approximately $2 each.
I believe XL6009 step-up/step-down (buck/boost) converters will also fit, but I don't have one to check.
I made two versions of the box with different sized cable exits: "standard gauge" 3.8x1.6mm, "heavy gauge" 3.8x4.6mm.
STEP file and Fusion 360 archive for your editing pleasure.

2x M3 x 6 screws or glue are required for assembly, set the output voltage before assembly. (No supports required, use a screw driver to punch through the sacrificial membrane in the lid's screw holes.)
