This project allows mounting any tablet or smartphone onto any standard camera stand or tripod.
The mount is composed on two parts:
A clamp screw at the rear of the base is used to secure the rod at the needed height. To hold the screw, a M3 screw nut is inserted into the corresponding cavity from inside the rod rail. An M3x10 wing screw (or just a normal M3 screw) is used to loosen or fasten the rod.
Three optional screw holes are also provided, one in the top part of the rod and two in the base, which can be used to attach springs or rubber bands to pull the rod downwards to hold the tablet by the spring force.
I found it useful to glue a little piece of soft rubber sheet
Besides the fully configurable OpenScad source file, I have included ready-to-print STL files for a larger and a smaller base, as well as rods with lengths 10cm, 13cm, 17cm and 20cm. Choose the rod length according to the width of your tablet or smartphone.
