The file 'Adjustable GT2 Belt Tensioner XL Remix 3D Printer Model' is (STL,stl, txt) file type, size is 79.6KB.
What is it:
This is a minor remix of stratop80's Adjustable GT2 Belt Tensioner design based on ThomasKTN Belt shortener
Modification consists of:
I gave it a somewhat larger volume, in other words strengthened it slightly. Also got rid of the clip's in favor of using small cable ties instead.
Why:
I've used stratop80's GT2 Belt Tensioner printed in PLA for a while now and it works perfectly. I like it since it's small and only features one centered screw, which tensions inline with the belt unlike for example tensioners featuring screws on each side of the belt.
But...
Since I haven't used Nylon (seems like the optimal filament for this)... never print in ABS... and mostly use a 0.4mm nozzle, I wanted to make this an easier print using PLA and a 0.4mm nozzle.
The drawback is of course It now requires two small cable ties.
Note:
Both the normal and the inverted version of the tensioner are included as with stratop80's original design. Choose one version depending on how you want / need to orient the tensioner on your belt...
