The file 'Adjustable Coin Weighted Fidget Spinner 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 2.6 MB.
The world has gone crazy about Fidget Spinners so, due to a number of requests, this allows for the weighting to be adjusted... and there's no need to buy a metal bearing as it's all 3D printed.
The Coin Fidget Spinner is an all 3D printed Fidget Spinner with the ability to add weight with coins and/or washers to achieve the best possible spin... fun to experiment with!
The interesting thing is that too much weight can slow the spin acceleration but too little weight reduces the spin time because there is not enough weight to maintain the momentum. Experiment with your spinner to find the ideal spin.
Add weight using coins or washers up to 22mm in diameter. It is also very important to apply a light (silicone or similar) lubricant to the moving surfaces as this will greatly improve the spin speed and duration... no different to a metal bearing a dry surfaces moving against another dry surfaces creates a lot of drag... lubrication fixes this.
Separate .stl files are provided fro the body, caps and shims as follows:
The body includes the 3D printed plastic bearing and body that holds the weights (coins and shims / spacers). You can print just the body and it will still function well as a spinner.
The caps (print 3) screw into the body and hold the weights and shims / spacers. You can print just the body and caps (no weights / shims) and it will spin well.
Shims / Spacers are provided in a range of thicknesses to ensure your 'weight stack' is tight and will not move around when spun. Any movement in the weights will affect the balance, spin speed and duration. The correct shim / spacer to use is the size that will make the weighting stack fractionally higher than the inner depth of the cap.
Please refer to the print settings and images for additional information... and post images of your Coin (Weighted) Fidget Spinners in action for other members to see!

Tips: Tips are not expected but are appreciated as they help offset my filament costs as much as anything else. However, as I live outside the USA tips cannot be sent to me via PayPal.Me as that service is not supported in my region and this is beyond Thingverse's control. If you feel like sending a tip please use regular PayPal and send it to [email protected] and, to those who do, thanks in advance!
