My printer sits on the top shelf of my desk currently, so it was hard to see the hole to stick the filament in, especially after making the Filament Guide by CHE3SE. The filament guide did fix a squeeking problem I had from the severe angle the roll was being pulled at, and I liked the idea of another style of filament guide that sits flush against the hole, basically extending the feeder hole outward so that it is easier to to stick the filament in, but non of them incorporate the wheel design, which I also like.
I may end up creating a combined file with of my own, but for now it seemed quicker to post as a remix, as this test block just sits on top of the roller guide by CHE3SE, and makes it so you can just shove the filament in under the wheel without bothering to line it up.
The mouth of the hole on my block is flared, and I've got a couple different versions to test out.
The first version has a triangular cutaway just so I can so the filament going through, which isn't necessary, but thats just how I wanted it.
Made another version as a solid block without the cut away.
Made a couple other versions playing with the size of the opening flare and position of the feeder tube.
As of this moment, i have only tested the first version and it worked like a charm. Just have to pop the wheel off the roller guide, stick my little feeder block in there, pop the wheel back on, and shove the filament in under the wheel!
I'll include the other versions, but I have not tested them yet. I may continue to tweak it if I encounter any alignment issues with my first version.
