The file 'Abarth & Fiat 500 Cup Holder Insert 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 74.8KB.
The cup holders in the Fiat & Abarth 500 are, frankly, abysmal. They're very shallow, and wider than they need to be, so they don't actually hold on to anything. I was fed up with my 16oz Starbucks cup wobbling around when I drove around town (and even worse, when it was half full or less it would completely fall over) and decided to remedy the situation.
This insert fits snugly into the driver's side cup holder on the floor, and will accept a 16oz Starbucks cup with or without a cardboard collar. Your mileage may vary with other cups but I'm sure it'll work for many other drinks vessels.
The STL is oriented as intended to be installed - i.e. wider side up - and will probably print fine that way as there's no major overhangs. However for my print, I rotated it 180 around the X axis and printed it upside down.
There is still a little wobble because I didn't want to get the cup stuck, but it's the same as any other cup holder now. As the top of the holder comes up around half of the cup height, it ain't going anywhere.
If you press your cup in too hard and it DOES get stuck, a little force will remove the insert from the original holder.
Please note that this current version will block off the passenger side holder somewhat. But they have two free hands, right?
