Summary

A remix of Duncans Battery Box. The following improvements has been made:

  • Store 24 AA and 20 AAA batteries in one box. The original design required you to print two separate boxes.

  • Can fit rechargeable batteries. Since most rechargeable batteries are slightly thicker than their alkaline counterparts, the original design would be too tight for some batteries. This box fit rechargeable batteries perfectly.

  • Each row has 4 batteries. The original box had rows of 3 or 5 batteries, since most rechargeable batteries are bought in a pack of 4, it make more sense to have rows of 4 batteries for sorting and it also looks better!

  • 1.2mm walls. The original design had 0.8mm walls which prints good on printers with 0.4mm nozzles but not many other sizes. By using 1.2mm walls this design will print well on printers with 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.6mm nozzles.

  • Almost no space wasted! Looks good!

Printing:
I used 4 perimeters for the walls to prevent hollow outer walls and printed it in PLA with a 0.6mm nozzle with a layer height of 0.3mm. The box took 5h and the lid took 2h.

Update:
It makes me happy that so many people like this design, thanks for all the likes and downloads! If this thing made your batteries a lot more organized, please consider giving a small tip :)
