This is a converter to allow you to use AA batteries in items that normally use C batteries.
C batteries are a little uncommon, and very pricey. Both C and AA batteries are 1.5 volts, and the same length, but the width is different. For the most part where you need C batteries, you can use AA batteries.
This thingy is basically a tube to hold an AA battery in a C battery compartment.
