Basically I'm out of C batteries, but the voltage and height of AA batteries are same (AA batteries are thinner C batteries). This design makes a shell for an AA so it can fit in a C battery cavity. The AA batteries may not last as long as a real C battery, nevertheless these make a quick fix if your out of C batteries.
