Summary

Yet another AA Battery Holder. Shorter Profile than most, also it has designed
reverse voltage protection, by not allowing contact if Battery is installed backwards.
I use double backed foam tape to mount this holder, as you must insulate the bottom from any metal surfaces that might short the Battery.

To make this holder, you will need 25mm Long x 2.5mm to 3mm Wide Solar Tabbing wire. You can use 5mm Battery weld strips or 5mm Solar tabbing wire, but you need to cut it down the center. ( Note: The solar tabbing wire solders much easier )

DO NOT USE YOUR WIFE'S GOOD SCISSORS TO CUT THEM or you are bound to get your Ass kicked ( or so I'm told ). Electricians Scissors work well.

The Negative end is the flex end, I start from the bottom with a curve on the tip, thread it through, make a 90 degree on the bottom of the strip so I don't pull it through and have to start again. Fold it back, insert in the top slot, and work it through, sometimes the tip of a razor blade will help with this.

The positive end is inset with a circle that helps keep a reversed battery from making contact, if your strip is inserted properly. I start at the top, push the strip down to just about center. Then over the hump, then tuck it in with the tip of a razor blade, and push it through. I bend a small 90 at the bottom so the contact strip wont easily be pulled out.

If your printer is tight, and your calibration good, you will have no problems inserting the strips but It might be frustrating at first until you figure it out.

Solar Cell Tab wire solders easier than the Nickel, Battery weld strips.

This thing is slowly evolving to make it better and better, as I use the holder in my projects.

You can probably combine to make dual holders, etc, if you need, with your Slicer program. I probably won't come up with multi units, or even an AAA holder, as.. AAA batteries though small, are just worthless IMHO. I change them too often in things that use them.

Good Luck !
