If you have a pick and place machine you can't have enough 8mm belt feeders.
These are used, for example, for resistors and capacitors in the 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, ... form factor.
In the 0201 and 0402 form factor, 59 components can be mounted per strip feeder. (2mm pitch)
In the form factor 0603, 0805, 1206, 30 components can be mounted. (4mm pitch)
"8mm_SMD_Strip_Feeder_30_Strips_300mm.stl" can be printed in one piece on a 300mm print bed.
2 pieces "8mm_SMD_Strip_Feeder_16_Strips_Halfe_JEDEC_Chip_Tray.stl" can be used as a replacement for a JEDEC Chip Tray (see picture 3)
We use 2 of these 16-strip-holders on our SMT330-X pick and place machine.
The SMD-Strip cover strip is held down with 2 magnetic adhesive tapes. (see picture 3 top)
The position is determined using 1.5mm x 10mm dowel pins. These ensure reproducible positioning of the strips and simplify the feeder configuration. (see picture 1)
