Summary

This is my 7th model of an air engine and the first one I was happy with and uploaded here to share with you :)

Video: https://youtu.be/YIDevAHdDKs
Instructions: see file 'instructions_pdf' → add '.pdf' ending after downloading (pdf is not supported on thingiverse).

Details:

  • Lowest speed: 120 rpm (depends on the mass of the flywheel)
  • Highest speed: 2000 rpm (at 20 psi)

For the fly wheel I've used an M40 washer I had laying around.

This is my first engine using piston rings. This is the reason why the piston is made from four parts. The piston rings do their job perfectly and the engine has noticeable compression!

Hint: Screw the cylinder and the top crankcase together before start sanding. Same thing with the piston.

Update 2022-05-25: New piston rod design → second bearing (15x8x3mm).
