This is meant as an inline cage for a 6-inch exhaust for a laser cutter I designed.
The faceplate made is intended to stop around layer 2 and overlay a piece of window screen to be embedded into the piece. This prevents the activated carbon from falling out of the face covers. This also could be achieved by using a fabric filter on the backside of the face cover.
The body of the inline filter is flanged to be mounted to a flat surface. This also acts as a stop when attaching any exhaust duct.
The face cover is attached to the body using M3*12 screws. I have found that this does well, but may want to attempt to use M4 screws if you would like a tighter fit. I also believe that many other screw types could be used.
I hope this is useful for others as it has for me and my maker space.
So I have found when filling this with activated charcoal this requires a high draw or pressure fan depending on the configuration. Please plan accordingly if planning to use this inline charcoal filter cage.
