First off, let me please ask that if you like these designs and find them useful please do like, follow and share my content. And if you have any ideas or concepts to modify the content I would love to hear!
I was toying with a new omni-directional wheel design recently and thought I would share it with the public. This is a 67mm diameter wheel with a bolt-secured 4mm axle (could be scaled to achieve other sizes). 3mm x 10mm socket head capscrews in the hub.
This was designed to look into multi-part hub omni-wheels for the purpose of simplifying manufacture and assembly. The rollers are held in place with a 3mm shaft, which could be smooth or threaded rod. All rollers are to be assembled during the hub assembly, with the final roller positioned post hub assembly so as to allow for access to the hub retainment bolt. A hold through the side of the roller mount allows for installation post hub assembly.
Have fun with it and be sure to post information if you decide to use them.
Cheers,
James.
