Summary

6384 mast mount for efoil or foil assist (parametric / customizable to any mast)

Use with OpenScad to customize.
Needs the BOSL2 library which unfortunately means its not compatible with the thingiverse customizer.

To customize for your mast:

  1. Download OpenScad
  2. Download BOSL2 and install it in your libraries directory
  3. measure the distance from the midpoint to the starboard or port face from front to back and update the values for the "points" array in the "measured_mast" function.
  4. Measure the front (bow) to back (stern) of the mast and update "mast_length" variable.
  5. Set "debug" to true and tweak the parametric handles in "bez_points" array until the smooth curve matches your measured points visually.
  6. Change the "show" variable to "front" or "back" for generating printed parts.

To assemble:

  1. Use 4 M4 x 25mm screws to attach the motor to the back half.
  2. Insert a couple 4mm nuts into the inside holes of the front half. This can be done by positioning the nut with a finger and using the screw to draw it into the hole (picture included). It is inset so the metal won't scratch the mast but I've noticed even the plastic can wear on the mast, so you might want to wrap it with tape first.
  3. Position both pieces around the mast.
  4. Use 2 M4 x 25mm screws to join the front and back half.
  5. Post videos of your efoil in action!
