Summary

I used a textured filament (black with sparkles) which helps mask layer lines at large layer heights. If you're using regular filament without particles, you may want to reduce layer height.

PLA is fine for indoor use, and PETG or ABS is better for outdoor use.

Using a translucent filament with low infill looks pretty cool if you're so inclined.

I did only one perimeter and 5% gyroid infill to save filament, but two perimeters would be better strength-wise. I have also tried vase mode for the pot part (the one with brown stripes and the fern) which saves tons of filament, but it is quite flimsy. If you want to try vase mode, you'll want to put a clear coat on it to waterproof it. If you print it normally with 2+ perimeters, you don't need to waterproof it.

I like to put a coffee filter in the pot over the drainage holes, then cover the coffee filter with a layer of small rocks.

To make the tray blend in with the pot, you might have to sand/scrape the tray rim which contacts the bottom of the pot to make it flat. I used a deburring tool to smooth the surface. Globs from your nozzle will inevitably make the surface bumpy and then there will be a gap. If your slicer is capable of ironing, that will help too.
