Summary

This is a design I came up with to hold the large Polymaker 5KG plastic spools as I use these quite often and needed a way to pull filament from them next to my printers. The design requires x2 6001Z bearings to work. A plastic printed bearing could be used and should last a while if you don't want to buy real bearings. But considering the weight of the spool it really works best with real ball bearings. I also have a 1 and 3KG version of this same stand it just needs shorter cross braces which is on another page. They both utilize the same parts except the cross braces are longer for the 5KG and shorter for the 1 and 3KG. I made this as compact as possible so it's not much bigger than the spool itself. As usual, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or comment here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Enjoy!

Parts recommended but not required:
X2 6001Z Ball Bearings
X4 M3x12mm Socket head cap screws and nuts (to hold the crossbraces to the uprights) but you could also opt to superglue these and forgo the screws and nuts
X4 M3x4mm Heated Inserts (to hold the bearing caps on)
X4 M3x16mm Socket head cap screws (also to hold the bearing caps on)
